It's been a while. I took a little break to get some fresh perspective and learn some new things, to up my game.

I started a new painting, this time an homage to Peter Max, a longtime favorite artist. It's specifically my version of his Sunrise 2000, meant to help me learn technique. I had so much fun with it, and am now almost done. I just want to "gild" the edges of it with a metallic gold paint and sign it. I've redone a fair amount of it since this progress picture, but this morning's work isn't photo ready yet.

I have a close colleague retiring in a few weeks and losing her will radically alter my daily work experience. To send her off, I'd like to make a necklace for her - I even already have everything I need to do it, bronze findings, unakite beads - but first, I need to see if she'll ever want to wear jewelry again after retiring! Another colleague gave me every bit of her jewelry after retiring because she never intends to wear it again.

I still have a 3 x 4 foot abstract to plot out, a collage for myself with an inspiration from my childhood, a jewelry line to get busy creating, and a number of personal books to create on varying subjects; my Seasonal Magic book, a Healing Book, etc.

See you next week!

Why Not: create a work lanyard for yourself out of a really beautiful ribbon (velvet? satin? Vivid colors?) gluing or sewing the tie closed for security?
