A New Camera

A new digital camera is a new lease on life for me. My old camera was getting very old and not performing as I need it to. I didn't want to break the bank and buy brand new, nor am I comfortable with mirrorless technology yet. So a "new" (to me) DSLR it is.

I bought a used Canon Digital Rebel T7 from Adorama. Received it on a Tuesday, took it out for a spin on the Saturday following. I shot the "creepy bunnies" I shot so many times years ago, the Quarry Trails falls, a Great Dane barking angrily at geese, Indian Run Falls, and poorly, the San Margherita sign (shot it with the wrong lens and would have had a long walk back to the car to get the right one. I'll do it right later.)

I used the zoom lens, the kit lens, the 50mm, and the Holga lens (a genuine lens taken from a Holga adapted for a DSLR) and played with the settings. I'm learning photography all over again! It truly is like starting over. Instead of seeing it as something I should be disappointed in myself over, I'm trying to see it as a brand new beginning, seeing it from a new angle. I'm already considering how I can better arrange and enjoy my photohunts.

I've already been to Lancaster, Ohio with it and had some fun and you can see those photos in the next weeks at my photo blog, All Eyes And Ears.

Now, I have a camera better suited for the new directions I plan to take my photography in.

Stay tuned to see those directions.
